OPENING TIP
The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team will open up Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play this Saturday, Dec. 1 as the Mustangs will host NSIC newcomers, the University of Sioux Falls Cougars. USF enters the first NSIC contest of 2012 with an overall record of 3-1, while the Mustangs enter 1-4.

SERIES HISTORY -
SMSU and Sioux Falls meet for the 20th time on Saturday with SMSU?leading 15-4 in a series that dates back to the 1969-70 season.  SMSU is 6-3 in games played in Marshall.  The Mustangs would put together the series' longest winning streak with 11 straight wins from 1989-90 to 2002-03, by average win margins of 16.5 points. In the last meeting, USF snapped the 11-game losing streak to SMSU with a 76-58 victory on Nov. 11, 2011, in Marshall.
