Mustangs defeat Bethel in final exhibition 76-45

MARSHALL, Minn. –
Annessa Rosch scored 14 points off the bench to lead Southwest Minnesota State to a 76-45 victory over Bethel University in an exhibition game on Monday night at the R/A Facility. SMSU

Annessa Rosch led the Mustang scoring as she netted 14 points, while two other Mustangs had double-digit point totals as Hope Bonlander scored 13 and Bree Holleman scored 12.

The Mustang defense held the Royal offense in check as SMSU forced 26 turnovers and recorded 19 turnovers. Bethel shot just 30 percent from the field in the game. Rebekah Rolling led the Mustang defense with six steals.

Bethel out-rebounded SMSU in the contest 42-37, with 14 of the 42 boards coming on offense. Kelly Swenson led the Royals with 13 points, while Kiah Dahlquist followed with 10.

The Mustangs will open up the regular season on the road at the Pittsburg Classic with games against Pittsburg State on Friday, Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. and Missouri Southern State on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. Both games will be played at the John Lance Arena in Pittsburg, Kansas.
