MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University baseball team continues Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play this weekend with a four-game series at the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D. Doubleheaders on both Saturday and Sunday begin at 12 p.m. and will be played at Bismarck's Municipal Ballpark.
Southwest Minnesota State (16-11 overall, 6-6 NSIC) is looking to rebound following a pair of home losses to Augustana College on Wednesday. The Marauders (5-25 overall, 4-12 NSIC) are coming off a doubleheader road sweep over Minnesota, Crookston on Wednesday.
SMSU leads the all-time series 13-5, including 7-3 in games played in Bismarck. The last time SMSU played in Bismarck was May 3, 2009. SMSU won three of four games last season in a series played in Sioux City, Iowa.
Sophomore
Ben Korger leads SMSU with a .366 batting average with nine doubles, 12 RBIs and eight stolen bases, while freshman
Jon Ellis ranks second on the squad batting .338 with four doubles and one home run.
The Mustangs are batting .298 and have a team ERA of 4.83.
James Carroll leads the University of Mary with a .362 batting average and has hit all three of the team's home runs. The Marauders are hitting .241 on the season with a 5.74 team ERA.

Following this weekend's games, SMSU will return home to open a 10-game homestand on Tuesday with a doubleheader versus Northern State.
