THIS WEEK: The Southwest Minnesota State University baseball team (22-17, 12-12 NSIC) returns to the field this weekend with four Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference versus nationally ranked and conference leading Minnesota State, Mankato (31-7, 19-3 NSIC). The two teams will play a four-game, home-and-home series starting at Mankato on Saturday with a doubleheader slated for 1:30 p.m. The series will conclude with a doubleheader in Marshall on Sunday with first pitch set for 1:30 p.m. SMSU begins the weekend in sixth place in the NSIC standings, while MSU is ranked No. 6 and No. 10 in two national polls and is ranked No. 1 in the first NCAA region rankings released on Wednesday.
