Mustangs host South Dakota Tech in midweek non-conference game

The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team returns to the R/A Facility tonight for a midweek non-conference game versus South Dakota Tech following two Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference losses to Bemidji State and Minnesota, Crookston this past weekend.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT - SOUTH DAKOTA TECH
The Lady Hardrockers are 14-8 overall this season and are currently on a five-game winning streak dating back to Jan. 12, 2013. South Dakota Tech is coming off weekend wins over Northern New Mexico College and Johnson & Wales University (Colo.) The Lady Hardrockers average 69.5 points per game and are led by Olivia Antilla (14.7 ppg) Katie Strandholm (14.1 ppg) and Hillary Hawkins (13.2 ppg). SDT is allowing 67.8 points per game and opponents are shooting 40.4 percent from the field.  Head coach for the Lady Hardrockers in her 32nd season is Barb Felderman. Felderman has led the Lady Hardrockers to the NAIA National Tournament 11 times, including two Final Four appearances. Felderman is 458-386 in her tenure at South Dakota Tech. South Dakota Tech finished the 2011-12 season 16-10 overall.

SERIES HISTORY - SOUTH DAKOTA TECH - SMSU LEADS 1-0
South Dakota Tech and Southwest Minnesota State will meet for only the second time in a series that SMSU leads 1-0. The Mustangs took the lone meeting during the 1984-85 season - winning on the road, 71-67.
