THIS WEEKEND - The Southwest Minnesota State University men's basketball team (9-11, 5-9 NSIC) returns home to the R/A Facility to face a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division team this weekend, looking to snap a seven-game losing streak. SMSU will first meet St. Cloud State University (11-9, 7-7 NSIC) on Friday, Jan. 30, starting at 8 p.m., before taking on the University of Minnesota Duluth (10-10, 7-7 NSIC) on Saturday, Jan. 31, starting at 7 p.m. Saturday's game is the annual "Hawaiian Night" game in which fans are encouraged to dress in "tropical" wear to cheer on the Mustangs and forget about the cold, winter season.
   SMSU begins the weekend sixth in the NSIC South Division standings and tied for 10th overall. SCSU and UMD are both tied for third in the NSIC North and tied for seventh overall.
   RADIO - Both games will be broadcast on 105.1 FM KARL with Ryan Rohlik handling play-by-play and Anthony Rohlik serving as analyst.
   SERIES HISTORY - Southwest Minnesota State and St. Cloud State meet for the 57th time in a series that started during the 1969-70 season. SCSU leads the series 37-19 and has won the last two games in the series the last two years. SMSU's last win came on Feb. 11, 2012, in St. Cloud, while its last home win was on Dec. 9, 2011. SCSU leads 15-12 in games played in Marshall. SCSU holds a 6-5 series lead since joining the NSIC in 2008-09, including one victory in the NSIC tournament championship game in 2010. SMSU head coach

   Southwest Minnesota State and Minnesota Duluth meet for the 80th time in a series dating back to 1972-73 with UMD leading 50-29. SMSU has won the last four games in the series and 11 of the last 12 meeting since the 2005-06 season. UMD's only win since the 2005-06 season came on Jan. 20, 2012, in Duluth.
