THE GAMES
The Southwest Minnesota State University men's basketball team (3-0) will head to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for a pair of non-conference games versus teams from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). On Friday night, SMSU will battle Michigan Tech (1-1) in Houghton, Mich., with tip-off slated for 6:30 p.m. CST. On Saturday, SMSU will take on Northern Michigan (1-1) with game time set for 2 p.m. CST in Marquette, Mich. The weekend caps off a busy opening week for SMSU, which will play five games in eight days.

•SMSU is off to a 3-0 start for the first time since the 2009-10 team opened the season 4-0.
