TUCSON, Ariz. – Malone University (Ohio) cracked out 14 hits and took advantage of four Southwest Minnesota State errors to earn a 10-0 victory on Friday afternoon at the Kino Sport Complex.
SMSU was held to just two hits in suffering its fifth straight loss and dropping to 1-11 overall.

Jon Leighton collected the two SMSU base hits.
Justin Clark started on the mound for SMSU and tossed the first 2 1/3 innings without allowing a run and recording three strikeouts, but left the game in the third inning after taking a line drive off his face.
Shawn Williams (0-1) came on in relief of Clark and pitched 2 2/3 innings, giving up six runs (five earned) on six hits with two walks and one strikeout.
Malone scored three runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth to blow open the game.
Southwest Minnesota State closes out its nine-game Arizona trip tomorrow taking on the University of Jamestown at 10 a.m. CST for a nine-inning game.
