Davis Bryan in the top of the first with a pair of runs on three hits.
Â
SMSU's best chance to score in the game came in the bottom of the second as
Shane Sellner singled and moved to third on a double by

Â
UIU quickly added to the lead in the top of the third with two more runs on three hits to build a 4-0 advantage. UIU added two more in the fourth and one more in the fifth for the final margin.
