Brad Bigler, the all-time wins leader in program history, is in his ninth season as head coach and has compiled an overall record of 147-106, including 102-82 in conference play.

•The 2012-13 and 2016-17 NSIC Coach of the Year, Bigler has led SMSU to five winning seasons, including one 28-win season and a pair of 19-win seasons.

SMSU SPLITS A PAIR OF ROAD MATCH-UPS
•SMSU split a pair of road games last weekend, losing 78-75 to Winona State on Friday, before earning a last-second 86-84 win over Upper Iowa on Saturday.
•Winona State's Tommy Gathje hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:23 remaining to help the Warriors rally for a 78-75 victory.
•SMSU shot 50 percent (31 of 62) from the field, but made just 6 of 22 from 3-point range in the loss to WSU.

Ryan Bruggeman led the Mustangs with 22 points on 8 of 14 shooting.

•Bruggeman reached 1,000 career points during SMSU's win at Minnesota Duluth on Dec. 8 and currently ranks 17th in team history with 1,093 points in 78 games.

Carter Kirk was named the NSIC South Division Player of the Week on Jan. 2.
•Kirk averaged 20 points and 15 rebounds, while shooting 70 percent from the field in home games versus Augustana and Wayne State.

•SMSU is 20-15 all-time in the NSIC tournament, with two championships (2012 & 2017), since the tournament began in 2000.
•The Mustangs are 9-2 at home, 1-7 on the road and 10-6 in neutral sites games.
•SMSU has advanced to the semifinals 10 times and have played in seven championship games (2001, 2002, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2017).

•SMSU made its fourth appearance in the NCAA tournament last season and first since 2012. SMSU is 8-4 in 12 all-time tournament games.
•SMSU has appeared in three region championship games in team history winning titles in both 2001 and 2009.
