MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University baseball team has altered its schedule again this week and will now face Augustana University on Thursday night in Omaha, Nebraska.
The doubleheader was scheduled to be played at Alumni Field in Marshall, but will now be played at Millard North High School starting at 6 p.m.
SMSU (9-15, 4-10 NSIC), which last played on April 11 in Wayne, Nebraska, has had 10 games canceled this season, including eight in conference play. Thursday will mark the 13
th and 14
th games played in the state of Nebraska this season. SMSU has yet to play a game in the state of Minnesota.
Augustana, ranked No. 3 (NCBWA) and No. 10 (Collegiate Baseball) nationally, is 30-2 overall and 16-2 in the NSIC.
Augustana is currently in first place in the NSIC standings, while SMSU is 11
th.
Augustana holds a 54-45 all-time series advantage and has won 15 of the last 16 meetings since the 2014 season. The Vikings won both games last season in Sioux Falls, by scores of 9-1 and 6-2.
