MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State wrestling team dropped the conference dual against Augustana, 28-9, on Saturday afternoon in the PE Gym.
SMSU (0-4, 0-3 NSIC) earned two bout victories while Augustana (3-1, 2-1 NSIC) picked up the other eight.
Justin Haneke and
Cortez Arredondo maintained their perfect records this weekend after winning both duals on the final day.
Haneke, won by fall at 4:19 against Augustana's Tyler Wagener. Haneke entered the weekend at 5-7 overall without seeing a conference match this season.
Haneke is now 2-0 in the conference and at 7-7 after his victory over Wagener (6-3).
No. 8 Arredondo (19-5) won both of his bouts this weekend as well and finished with a 10-8 decision victory over Colin Ayers (21-9).
Southwest Minnesota State travels to Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) on Thursday for a 7 p.m. start time.
