Rodning and Reinhart named second team All-NSIC

BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced today that Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball players Caleigh Rodning and Meleah Reinhart have been named second team All-NSIC as selected by the league's 16 head coaches.
 
Rodning earned All-NSIC second team last season and this is the first conference recognition for Reinhart. This is the first time SMSU has had two players to earn All-NSIC in a season since Kelly Crimi and Sara Leidall in the 2005-06 season. 
 
Rodning, 5-foot-11, junior forward from Shakopee, Minnesota, averaged a team-high 13.5 points per game this season and also led the squad with 6.9 rebounds per game. She finished the season shooting 39.3 percent (117 of 298) from the field and 85 percent (110 of 129) from the free throw line.
 
In NSIC play this season, Rodning ranked eighth in the league in free throw pct. (82.6), 15th in rebounding (6.4) and 18th in scoring (12.3).
 
In her three-year career, Rodning has scored 1057 points and has grabbed 584 rebounds in 79 games. She ranks third in the all-time career record in free throws made (360), tied for third in free throw pct. (83.3), sixth in rebounding average (7.4) and tenth in scoring average (13.4). 
 
Reinhart, a 5-foot-9, sophomore guard from New Ulm, Minnesota, averaged a team second-best 11.7 points per game this season. She finished the season shooting 42 percent (108 of 259) from the field, 42 percent from the 3-point line (43 of 102), and 82 percent from the free throw line (68 of 84). 
 
In NSIC play this season, Reinhart ranked ninth in free throw pct (81.9), ninth in 3-point pct. (41.0), and 22ndin scoring (11.8). 
 
In her two-year career, Reinhart has scored 507 points and has grabbed 115 rebounds. She ranks 10thin 3-point percentage (36.7) in the SMSU all-time career leaderboard. 
 
Southwest Minnesota State finished the 2018-19 season with a 12-16 overall record after suffering a 87-57 loss at Minnesota Duluth in the first round of the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament on Wednesday night.
