Mustang athletics announces new mobile app

MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University Athletics Department is excited to announce a new way to follow the Mustangs. Collaborating with Sidearm Sports and Bleachr, the Official Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs Mobile App is now available free of charge in both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
 
The free mobile app will serve as a one-stop shop for fans on the go. In addition to news, rosters, schedules, game recaps, highlights, scores and live stats, the SMSU Mustang App is crafted to enhance your game day experience whether attending the game or following from home. To ensure fans are eligible to participate in rewards and in-game promotions, fans are encouraged to turn location services on. 
 
Fans will be able to customize push notifications for breaking news and information on their favorite SMSU teams. 
 
The new app offers more opportunities to earn points and rewards. Once in the app:
 
  •   Create an account with an email address or login with Facebook
    • SMSU students are encouraged to login with their SMSU email 
  •  Select the drop down menu and click on the Rewards button
  •  Choose which program you are participating in i.e. Mustang Fan Rewards or Mustang Student Rewards
  •  When you see the "Now Entering the Stadium" screen, you have successfully checked in to the rewards part of the app
 
Trivia
Answer trivia questions during the game to earn even more points!
 
Challenges
Allow the Mustang App to access your camera and you'll be able to post to our Fan Stream with photo & video challenges!
 
Fan Stream
The Fan Stream shows off posts from everyone who has checked into the game. The post with the most likes will also receive additional bonus points!
 
Rewards Codes
Additional points can be given with surprise Rewards Codes, simply enter in the code word into the Balance section located in the Rewards Store. Rewards Codes can be given out at games, through email, social media and more! Always be on the lookout, you never know when the next one will appear!
