OWATONNA, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's tennis team lost 6-1 to Bemidji State on Saturday night at the Owatonna West Tennis Center.
SMSU drops to 0-5 overall, 0-5 NSIC, with the loss and will play Minnesota Crookston on Sunday morning starting at 8:30. BSU is now 5-6 overall, 3-4 NSIC with the victory.
The Mustangs picked up their lone point of the match as
Cora Delich earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles. SMSU was swept in straight sets in the other final singles matches.
Delich and
Paige Janka lost a tough 7-6 match at No. 1 doubles,
Cara Berkner and
Taylor Bonestroo lost 6-0 at No. 2 doubles and Hannah Himmelman and
Rachel Steffen lost 6-2 at No. 3 doubles.
