WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team concluded its fall season on Tuesday shooting a final round 51-over-par 331 for a two-round total of 92-over 652 and earn a ninth-place finish at the 18-team Midwest Classic. The tournament, hosted by the University of Central Missouri, was played at the 5,618-yard, par 70, Mules National Golf Club.
Sally Gallagher earned a top 20 finish in the 108-player field securing a tie for 20
th with a 17-over 157. She shot a steady 8-over 78 on Tuesday with 11 pars.
Ashley Trongard tied for 40
th overall with a 22-over 162, following today's round of 15-over 85, which included six pars.
Jacqueline Gossen put together a round of one birdie and eight pars on Tuesday for an 8-over 78 and closed the tournament in a tie for 49
th at 24-over 164.
Lauryn Driscoll shot a 20-over 90 on Tuesday with one birdie and three pars to card a 29-over 169 to finish in 66
th place.
Anneke Weg finished in a tied for 84
th overall with a 37-over 177, after shooting a 21-over 91 on Tuesday with three pars.
SMSU have four players competing as individuals during the tournament.
Sydney Noel led the way with a 17-over 87 on Tuesday with one birdie and three pars. She finished tied for 73
rd overall with a 33-over 173.
Danielle Podoll shot a 26-over 96 with three pars to finish tied for 96
th at 43-over 183, while
Natalie Bohnert registered four pars on Tuesday on her way to a 26-over 96 and finished 98
th at 44-over 184.
Courtni Frank played during Monday's opening round but missed today's round due to sickness.
Central Missouri won the tournament with a 33-over 593, while UCM's Rosie Klausner earned medalist honors with a 5-over 145.
Southwest Minnesota State will resume its 2021-22 season next March.
