MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's golf team battled Minnesota State in the first 18 holes of the 36-hole Mustang/Maverick Dual on Sunday at the par 72, 5,826-yard, Marshall Golf Club. The two teams will conclude the dual match tomorrow at the Mankato Golf Club starting at 10 a.m.
MSU shot a 33-over-par 321 on Sunday and holds a four-shot lead over SMSU's 37-over 325. SMSU's
Ashley Trongard shot a career-best 7-over 79 and is tied for first place with MSU's Delaney Conrad and Madi McGinty.
SMSU's
Jacqueline Gossen is in fourth place with an 8-over 80, while
Sally Gallagher is tied for fifth following a 9-over 81.
Courtni Frank (playing as an individual) shot a 12-over 84 and is tied for ninth.
Lauryn Driscoll recorded a 13-over 85 and is tied for 11
th with teammate
Anneke Weg closing with 14-over 86 to sit in 13
th place.
Sydney Noel,
Natalie Bohnert and
Danielle Podoll all both played as individuals for the Mustangs with Noel shooting an 18-over 90 with Bohnert and Podoll both carding rounds of 20-over 92.
