•The Southwest Minnesota State University women's basketball team (7-3, 5-3 NSIC) will travel south for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference games going against Wayne State College (5-7, 4-6 NSIC) in Wayne Neb.
•Friday's game will begin at 6:30 p.m., while Saturday's match-up will start at 2:30 p.m. in the Rice Auditorium.
•SMSU opens the weekend in fourth place in the NSIC South Division standings. The top four teams in each division qualify for the NSIC Tournament.

SERIES HISTORY VERSUS WAYNE STATE COLLEGE
•SMSU and WSC meet for the 59th and 60th time with WSC leading 39-19 in a series started in 1991-92.
•WSC leads the series 22-5 in games played in Wayne, with a 79-62 win last season in Wayne on Jan. 4, 2020.
•SMSU won last season, Feb. 21 in Marshall, snapping a 21-game losing streak in the series.

•Tom Webb is in his fifth season as head coach with a 43-76 record, including 32-64 in NSIC play.
•Webb is 134-199 overall in his 13th season as?head coach at the Division II level after compiling a record of 91-123 in eight seasons (2008-16) as head coach at Cameron University (Okla.).
•SMSU has improved its victory total each season since Webb took over prior to the 2016-17 season.
•SMSU's 16 victories last season was the program's most since recording 19 during the 2004-05 season.

ABOUT SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA STATE
•SMSU finished its home games at the R/A Facility last Friday and Saturday continuing NSIC South Division play splitting a series against Augustana with an 83-81 overtime loss on Friday before earning a 75-62 victory on Saturday. Friday's game was the first overtime game for the Mustangs this season. The last time SMSU went into overtime was last season against University of Mary which the Mustangs won 91-85.
•In Friday's overtime game, SMSU struggled getting shots to fall in the second half, shooting 29.6 percent (8 of 27) and shooting only 25 percent in overtime (2 of 8). Augustana found momentum in the second half shooting 45.7 percent (16 of 35) and shot 50 percent in overtime (4 of 8). SMSU was in control going into halftime with a 44-29 advantage before Augustana was able to flip the script in the third and fourth quarter tying the game with two seconds left.
•Sadie Stelter led SMSU in scoring on Friday with 21 points, while Meleah Reinhart added 20 points. Abuk Akoi was able to get three steals, along six rebounds and nine points.
•In Saturday's win, Jenna Borchers led the Mustangs with a season-high 25 points, connecting on a career high seven 3-pointers, along with grabbing six rebounds. The 25 points is the highest by a Mustang player this season. Akoi tied the school single-game record for the fourth time in her career with seven blocked shots, she also grabbed 10 rebounds and scored five points. Reinhart scored 13 points and pulled down six rebounds, while Sam Wall scored nine points with Erin Baxter adding seven points.
•SMSU limited Augustana to 32.9 percent shooting and held them to just five points in the second quarter.
•For the season, Reinhart leads the team through 10 games averaging 14.9 ppg with 16 3-pointers. Stelter is scoring 12.8 ppg and has racked up a team-high 26 assists.
•Borchers ranks third on the squad in scoring at 12.5 ppg and has connected on a team-high 29 3-pointers.
•For the season, SMSU is shooting 37.5 percent from the field, 33.5 percent from 3-point range, 78.5 percent from the free throw line and are a plus-7.1 in rebound margin. SMSU is averaging 69.8 points per game, while opponents average 60.1 ppg.

•In the latest NCAA statistics (Feb. 9), SMSU ranks first in defensive rebounds (35.9), sixth in rebounds per game (47.3), 10th in 3-point field goal pct. defense (23.2) and 12th in free throw pct. (78.5)
•Senior Sadie Stelter ranks fifth in the country in free throw pct. (92.9), senior Abuk Akoi ranks third in blocked shots per game (3.4) and sixth in blocked shots (34).

REINHART REACHES 1,000 CAREER POINTS
•Senior Meleah Reinhart reached 1,000 career points on Jan. 22 at Minnesota State becoming the 21st player in team history to reach the milestone. Reinhart has scored 1,077 points in 90 games ranking 15th in team history.
MUSTANGS IN THE SMSU RECORD BOOK
•Six Mustangs are ranked among the top 15 in several SMSU career records, which are located on page 4.
•Senior Caleigh Rodning ranks second in free throws made with 399 and is 10 from tying Andrea Schreier (1997-2001) for the all-time record of 409. She also ranks third in free throw pct. (83.5), sixth in free throws attempts (478) and seventh with 675 rebounds.
•Senior Abuk Akoi ranks second in team history with 175 blocked shots.
•Senior Meleah Reinhart ranks seventh in free throw pct. (80.0) and is 15th in scoring with 1077 points.

NEW LOOK NSIC SCHEDULE AND POSTSEASON
•Each NSIC team was scheduled to have 16 regular season games with 14 conference games versus teams within their division.
•The NSIC Sanford Tournament has been reduced to an eight-team tournament with the top four teams in each division advancing to the tournament in Sioux Falls, S.D.
SCOUTING WAYNE STATE COLLEGE
•Wayne State College, is 5-7 overall, 4-6 NSIC, following a pair of road losses against Sioux Falls last weekend, 80-45 on Friday, and 62-58 on Saturday.
•Senior forward Erin Norling is the leading scorer averaging 16.8 ppg and averages 7.5 rpg.
•Freshmen forward Halley Busse is the second leading scorer at 14.6 ppg to go along with 17 steals.
•WSC is shooting 38.6 percent from the field, 29.4 percent from 3-point range, 77.8 percent from the free throw line. WSC is averaging 70.2 ppg, while opponents are averaging 77.4 ppg.
•Head coach Brent Pollari is in his third season with a record of 36-35.
