BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team closed its first tournament of the 2021-22 season on Tuesday, shooting a final round 52-over 340, for a two-round total of 109-over 685, to place fifth at the nine-team Bemidji State Tracy Lane Memorial Tournament held at the Bemidji Town & Country Club.
Sally Gallagher led the Mustangs on Tuesday with a team-low 8-over 80 to finish in a tie for 16
th place overall at 24-over 168.
Jacqueline Gossen and
Natalie Bohnert both carded rounds of 14-over 86 on Tuesday with Gossen tying for 23
rd overall at 29-over 173, while Bohnert tied for 25
th with a 30-over 174.
Lauryn Driscoll, who shot SMSU's low round on Monday, also tied for 25
th overall at 30-over 174, following a 19-over 91 on Tuesday.
Danielle Podoll recorded a score of 16-over 88 on Tuesday and tied for 29
th at 31-over 175.
Sydney Noel had a solid round of 16-over 88 and placed 41st with a 40-over 184.
Natalie Young from Augustana took home medalist honors with an 8-over 152. Augustana won the team title with a 53-over 629, with Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State both shooting 71-over 647 to tie for second place.
Southwest Minnesota State returns to action on Sept. 20-21 competing at the Concordia-St. Paul Classic at Keller Golf Course in Maplewood, Minn.
