PUEBLO, Colo. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's swimming & diving team concluded a busy day on Saturday competing at the CSU-Pueblo quadrangular meet held inside the Sam Jones Aquatic Center.
SMSU earned victories over CSU-Pueblo (131.5-86.5) and Adams State (163-55), while losing to Western Colorado (187-53).
SMSU's 400-yard freestyle relay team of
Grace Busch,
Juliana Villa,
MacKenzie Kallevig and
Maija Geier set a pool record with a first-place time of 3:42.84.
Geier picked up a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke touching the wall at 1:02.55.
Kallevig picked up a second-place time of 56.93 in the 100-yard freestyle with teammate
Addi Schroeder finishing in third at 57.03.
Geier finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.35 with Kallevig earning third place at 25.78.
Sarah McDonald earned 203.9 points to finish second in 1-meter diving.
SMSU returns to competition next Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Concordia-St. Paul triangular in Mendota Heights, Minn.
