SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's swimming & diving team concluded the three-day Augustana Invite on Saturday inside the Midco Aquatic Center.
MacKenzie Kallevig set SMSU history in the first leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay, completing her 100-yards in 53.76, the fastest 100-yard freestyle in program history. The previous record was 53.92, set by Kallevig at the 2021-22 NSIC championships.
The relay team of Kallevig, Juliana Villa, Natalie Bohnert and Maija Geier placed 16th in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Bohnert finished the 200-yard butterfly in 2:13.34 to place 13th in the 'B' finals. Emma Polchow had a personal best in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 19:39.74 to finish 17th.
Grace Busch finished 21st in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 20:01.18 and placed 23rd in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:19.60
Geier placed 22nd in the 'C' finals for the 200-yard backstroke with a season best time of 2:12.59.
The Mustangs had two place in the 'C' final for the 200-yard breaststroke, Olivia Sholl finished 24th with a time of 2:35.67 while Emily Ratajczak placed right behind her at 25th with a time of 2:35.88.
The Mustangs will resume their season on Friday, January 13th when they host Sioux Falls for a dual meet.
