Mustangs compete against #24 SDSU

BROOKINGS, S.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball team competed against the No. 24-ranked South Dakota State Jackrabbits on Wednesday night in Brookings, S.D., dropping the exhibition 105-58.
 
This was the Mustangs' first exhibition against an NCAA Division I program since Nov. 9, 2014, when they faced Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
 
SDSU shot 67% (36 of 55) from the field and 52% (12 of 23) from downtown. The Mustangs would shoot 52% (12 of 23) from deep and grab nine offensive rebounds.
 
Jenna Borchers and Peyton Blandin led SMSU with 18 points apiece, combining for eight three pointers on 75% shooting (8 of 12) from deep.
 
SMSU opens its season on Friday, Nov. 11, starting the Nebraska-Kearney Classic against Northwest Missouri State at 5 p.m.
