BISMARCK, N.D. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's tennis picked up another conference victory on Saturday night defeating MSU Moorhead 7-0 at the Capital Racquet and Fitness Center.
The victory pushes SMSU to a 13-10 overall record, including 5-3 in NSIC play. The 13 victories matches the 2019 team for the most single-season victories since SMSU moved to NCAA Division II in 1996.
The Mustangs opened the match cruising through all three doubles matched to secure the team points.
Courtenay Leonard and
Joana Reis Indio won 6-0 at No. 1, while
Kristina Vuksanovic and
Maja Louisa Harck also won 6-0 at No. 2.
Roz Oye and
Cora Delich picked up their team-leading 13 victory of the season with a 6-4 win at No. 3.
In singles play, Reis Indio won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1, Leonard earned a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 2, while Vuksanovic clinched the team victory recording a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3. Harck continued the winning ways rallying for a 4-6, 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4, followed by Delich winning at No. 5, 6-1, 6-2, and
Faith Madikwe picking up a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 6.
SMSU concludes the weekend with a big match versus UMary on Sunday starting at 1 p.m.
