MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's swimming & diving team lost their dual today to the University of Sioux Falls Cougars. The Cougars won by a final score of 191-74.
Sarah McDonald excelled in her 3-meter diving, as she finished her six rounds with a final score of 211.43. McDonald's score is the second highest six round score the Mustangs have ever had, trailing only her score of 211.65 at MSU Moorhead earlier this season.
Maija Geier placed first in the 100-yard backstroke as she finished with a time of 1:02.05. Geier also finished second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:13.77
Natalie Bohnert placed second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:14.16, in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.46, as well as the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.63.
SMSU's swimming and diving team will return to action next Saturday, Jan. 21, when they host Minnesota-Morris and Northern State for a triangular meet at 2 p.m.
