MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's and men's cross-country teams return to action on Saturday morning competing at the Briar Cliff University Invitational at Adams Nature Preserve in North Sioux City, Iowa.

The women's 6,000-meter race is slated for 10:30 with the men's 8,000-meter race to follow at 11:15 a.m.

SMSU last competed on Sept. 22 at the University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational.

Madison Marco was the top finisher for the Mustang women for the third time in three races as she ran the 6,000-meter course in a time of 25:06 to place 129th out of a field of nearly 400 runners.

For the SMSU men,
Seth Torgerson was the team's top finisher for the third straight race as he closed the 8,000-meter course with a time of 29:08 to place 232nd.

Saturday's race is the program's final tune-up prior to the NSIC Championships on Oct. 21.
