MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University men's and women's cross country teams return to action this Friday competing at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships in Wayne, Neb.

The races will take place at the Wayne Country Club and hosted by Wayne State College. The women's 6,000-meter race starts at 12 p.m., followed by the men's 8,000-meter race at 1:15 p.m. The women's race will have 16 teams competing while 14 teams will run in the men's race.

SMSU seventh-year head coach
Kirk Nauman expects to have eight athletes compete in the women's race and nine athletes in the men's race.

At the 2024 NSIC Championships in Minot, N.D., the Mustang women finished 14
th with 379 points, while the men's team finished 13
th with 417 points.

Augustana won both the women's and men's NSIC team titles a season ago.
