MARSHALL, Minn.-The Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball team returned home with confidence on Monday night with a 96-52 victory over Bethany Lutheran College inside the R/A Facility.
SMSU, 2-4 overall, had four players score in double figures with
Bri Stoltzman leading the way with 18 points on 7 of 12 shooting with four makes at the foul line.
Sam Wall scored 14 points on 5 of 7 shooting with three 3-pointers, while
Peyton Blandin added 12 points making 5 of 13 shots with a pair of 3-pointers.
Madison Gehloff recorded 12 points as well, while adding four rebounds and two assists.
Kenzie Jones rounded out the top Mustang attackers with nine points on 3 of 6 shooting, adding five rebounds and three assists.

The Mustangs finished the game shooting 53 percent (36 of 68) from the field including a season-high 50 percent from deep (13 of 26).

Audrey Swanson also had a solid game for the Mustangs with seven points, a team-high six rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Bethany (0-5), a Division III school, was led by Aubrea Kor's 18 points with three 3-pointers. Tonight's game was an exhibition game for the Vikings. BLC closed the night shooting 27 percent (15 of 55) from the field, including 4 of 19 on 3-pointers.

SMSU scored 13 of 15 points to start the game and never looked back in building a 31-13 advantage after one quarter of play. The Mustangs would shoot 50 percent in the second quarter, while limiting the Vikings to just 2 of 14 shooting as the lead would build to 49-20 at halftime.

SMSU continued its red-hot shooting in the second half making 18 of 35 field goals with six 3-pointers. Â

SMSU is back in action on the road next on Friday, Dec. 1, taking on Winona State with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Mustangs then travel to Mankato, Minn., where they face off with Minnesota State on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m.
