MANKATO, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University indoor track & field teams set three school records on Friday at the Maverick Invitational hosted by Minnesota State University.
The meet was the last for SMSU prior to next Friday and Saturday's NSIC Championships set for Mankato at the Myers Field House.
The Mustangs'
Sierra Clifford broke her own school record in the 600-meters with a time of 1:37.30, while
Macie Langstraat crushed the 1,000-meter school record with a second-place time of 3:05.59.
Emily Van Roekel recorded a time of 1:02.29 in the 400-meters to earn fourth place.
Lexy Gilbert ran 8.12 in the finals of the 60-meters to take home fourth place.
Taytum Klink finished ninth in the 200-meters at 26.92 with Gilbert closing in 11
th place at 27.55.
Rainbow Stands and
Stella Anderson both finished at 1.54m in the high jump to tie for fourth-place.
Shealyn Tom cleared 3.29m in the pole vault to finish fourth, while
Serena Schwartz finished tied for fifth at 3.14m.
Nadia Sanford finished with a toss of 13.34m in the shot put to earn sixth-place overall and was also seventh in the weight throw at 15.51m.
For the SMSU men's team,
Hunter Smith set a school record in the pole vault with a fourth-place finish at 4.57m.
Max Schmitt ran 8.97 in the finals of 60-meter hurdles to place fifth.
Tyler Smith finished fourth in the 200-meters with a time of 22.66.
Tyler Nebelung recorded a toss of 14.57m in the shot put to finish seventh with teammate
Deekon Anvid right behind in eight-place at 14.35m.
Carl Swedzinski earned a top 10 finish in the shot put as well at 14.23m.
Swedzinski finished fourth in the weight throw at 17.74, while Nebelung was sixth at 16.63m.
