MARSHALL, Minn. – Due to expected poor weather in the Upper Midwest, officials from Southwest Minnesota State University and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference have announced SMSU's women's and men's basketball games in the first round of the NSIC Tournament originally scheduled for Wednesday evening will now be played on Tuesday afternoon inside the R/A Facility.
The SMSU women's basketball team (No. 3 South) will host Minnesota Crookston (No. 6 North) on Tuesday starting at 1 p.m., while the SMSU men's basketball team (No. 4 South) will take on Minot State (No. 5 North) with game time set for 3 p.m.
Ticket information for Tuesday's games will be announced on Monday.
At this time, all other first round games will remain as scheduled, but are subject to change.
Following the first-round games, the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship games will take place Saturday-Tuesday, Feb. 25-28, at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
If the SMSU women's team wins on Tuesday they would play on Sunday versus St. Cloud State (No. 2 North) starting at 1:30 p.m. If the SMSU men's team is victorious, they would face Northern State (No. 1 North) on Saturday with game time slated for 4:30 p.m.
