MARYVILLE, Mo. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's tennis team opened its spring trip on Friday afternoon suffering a 7-0 loss to Northwest Missouri State University played at the Frank Grube Tennis Courts.
 
SMSU drops to 1-7 overall, while NWMSU improves to 4-2.
 
Two of the matches in doubles play were close with Joana Reis Indo and Camilia Paccieri losing 6-4 at No. 2, while 
Courtenay Leonard and 
Peyton-Lynn Anderson dropped a 6-3 match at No. 1.
 
SMSU was swept in straight sets in all six singles matches.
 
The Mustangs continue non-conference play on Saturday with a 9 a.m. match versus Missouri Western State played inside the Genesis Health Club in St. Joseph, Mo.
