MARSHALL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State University women's swimming & diving team faced off with the Minnesota State University Mavericks Saturday afternoon inside the Don Palm Natatorium, falling to the Mavericks by a final score of 221-65.

Maija Geier led the way for the Mustangs, winning the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.06 seconds, as well as placing second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.80 seconds.

Carla Nevi had a strong day, placing second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:22.16 seconds.

Shannon Bailey won the 200-yard breaststroke with a final time of 2:40.69.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team, comprised of
Quincie Klein,
Heather Arlen,
Natalie Bohnert and
Maija Geier placed second, with a final time of 1:43.93.

The Mustangs will return to action on Jan. 26 in Aberdeen S.D. for the Northern State Tri against Northern State and UMary.
