MARSHALL, Minn.- The Southwest Minnesota State University women's swimming & diving team fell to both Concordia-St. Paul and Minnesota State at the SMSU Triangular on Saturday afternoon.
SMSU lost 225-92 to Minnesota State and 183-135 to Concordia-St. Paul. The dual featured 17 events, which included 3-meter and 1-meter diving.
Maija Geier earned a first-place finish for the Mustangs in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.73 and finished third in the 100-yard backstroke at 59.87.
Carla Nevi secured a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:10.34 and earned a pair of second-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.97) and 400-yard IM (4:49.50).
Maddy Storm earned a pair of second-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.38) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:31.78).
Lexi Weems grabbed a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.21.
A team consisting of
Maija Geier,
Maggie Johnson,
Lexi Weems, and
Carla Nevi earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.53.
SMSU returns to action on Nov. 3 with a dual at MSU Moorhead, with a start time scheduled for 2 p.m.
