MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University men's basketball team will play its lone exhibition game of the season on Wednesday, Oct. 30, hosting St. Olaf College with game time set for 7 p.m. inside the R/A Facility.
 
Admission is FREE for the game.
 
SMSU returns seven letter winners and three starters from last season's 19-13 team that advanced to the NCAA tournament for the sixth time in team history and first since 2018. SMSU tied for fifth in the NSIC with a record of 14-8.
 
St. Olaf finished last season at 9-16 overall, including 8-12 in the MIAC.
 
The Mustangs open the regular season on Nov. 8-9 hosting the NSIC/MIAA Challenge. SMSU will take on Fort Hays State (Kan.) on Nov. 8 starting at 7 p.m., while on Nov. 9, will face Nebraska Kearney with tip-off slated for 6 p.m. Concordia-St. Paul will play UNK on Nov. 8 at 5 p.m. and will battle FHSU on Nov. 9 at 4 p.m.
