MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's swimming & diving team returns to the pool on Saturday with a 2 p.m. dual match versus MSU Moorhead at Nemzek Pool in Moorhead, Minn.
Saturday's meet will feature 14 individual or relay events along with 1-meter and 3-meter diving.
SMSU is 2-3 all-time versus MSUM which includes a 161-138 setback last season in Marshall.
SMSU last competed on Oct. 19 losing to both Concordia-St. Paul (183-135) and Minnesota State (225-92) in a double-dual in Marshall.
The Mustangs had several high finishers in the home meet with
Maija Geier earning a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.73 and finishing third in the 100-yard backstroke at 59.87.
Carla Nevi secured a first-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:10.34 and earned a pair of second-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.97) and 400-yard IM (4:49.50).
Maddy Storm earned a pair of second-place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.38) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:31.78).
Lexi Weems grabbed a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.21.
A team consisting of
Maija Geier,
Maggie Johnson,
Lexi Weems, and
Carla Nevi earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:39.53.
Following Saturday's meet, SMSU will have a dual at Minnesota State on Nov. 16.
