Marshall, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State women's basketball team played hard to earn a 101 – 51 win over Augsburg on Saturday afternoon.
SMSU improves to 3-0 overall, while Augsburg drops 1-1 to start the season.
Bri Stoltzman led the Mustang offense with 19 points on 7 of 12 shooting, grabbed six rebounds and team-high five steals.
Kenzie Jones added 15 points on 5 of 7 shooting, tallied four 3-pointers and recorded two assists.
Peyton Blandin rounded out the top Mustang attackers with 11 points on 3 of 7 shooting.
Natalie Nielsen grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds while also adding nine points.
The Mustangs finished the game shooting 49 percent (34 of 69) from the field, 46 percent from (11 of 24) downtown including 67 percent (22 of 33) from the free throw line.
Augsburg was led by Wakinyela Bear tallying 16 points on 5 of 22 shooting and grabbed three rebounds. The Auggies closed the night shooting 29 percent (18 of 63) from the field, including 5 of 19 on 3-pointers.
