MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's swimming & diving team put together a strong day setting several school records during the opening day of the three-day WildBear Invite hosted by Concordia-St. Paul and St. Kat's on Thursday. The meet, with seven schools competing, is being held inside the Two Rivers Aquatic Center.
Carla Nevi won the 200-yard IM with a school record time of 2:06.52, breaking her previous record of 2:07.31 set last season. She also set the school record for the 200-yard freestyle at 1:55.61 as the leadoff in the 800-yard freestyle relay. Nevi, along with teammates

Maddy Storm and
Maija Geier, finished in third-place with a school record time of 7:53.37. The previous school record in the event was set last season at the NSIC Championship at 7:54.75.
Lexi Weems competed in the 'B' finals of the 50-yard freestyle and closed with the top time of 24.11 to set a school record, surpassing the previous mark of 24.18 set by MacKenzie Kallevig during the 2021-22 season.
The 200-yard IM relay team of Nevi, Storm,
Heather Arlen and Geier also set a new school record earning a third-place finish with a time 1:47.09. The previous record was set at last season's NSIC Championship at 1:47.42.
Geier competed in the 'A' finals of the 50-yard freestyle and placed fourth at 24.25.
The meet continues on Friday with prelims starting at 10 a.m. and the finals taking place at 5:30 p.m. Events schedule for Friday include the 400-yard IM, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard butterfly.
