MARSHALL, Minn. – Southwest Minnesota State University baseball senior Isaac Nett has been named the D2 Baseball Insider National Player of the Week on Wednesday following his performance last weekend in four SMSU wins over Bemidji State.

Nett, an outfielder from Albany, Minn., batted .588 (10-for-17) with four home runs, three doubles, 17 RBIs, eight runs scored and 25 total bases. He also walked four times, stole two bases and finished with a 1.471 slugging pct. and a .667 on-base pct.

Nett tied a school record with three home runs and finished with seven RBIs in SMSU's game one doubleheader victory on Saturday in Brandon, S.D. He is the fourth player in team history to hit three home runs in one game and the first since 2016. In game two of the doubleheader on Saturday, Nett belted a home run in his first at bat and walked four times to tie another school single-game record.
 
In Friday's first game of the series in Sioux Falls, S.D., Nett went 3 for 5 with two doubles, five RBIs and scored a pair of runs. In game two on Friday, he once again was 3 for 5 with a double and three RBIs.
 
For the season, Nett is batting .402 in 23 games with seven home runs, seven doubles, one triple, 26 runs scored and 28 RBIs. He enters this week's games having reached base in 15 straight games and ranks second on the team with eight multiple hit games.
 
Nett has played in 105 career games with a .366 batting average with 139 hits, including 22 doubles, 21 home runs and 94 RBIs.
 
SMSU is 14-9 overall, 8-7 NSIC, and will play a non-conference game at Augustana today (Wednesday) before hosting Concordia-St. Paul this Saturday and Sunday for a four-game series at Legion Field.
