WAYNE, Neb. – The Southwest Minnesota State cross country teams returned to action on Saturday at the Wildcat Classic hosted by Wayne State College at the Wayne Country Club.
In the women's 6k race,
Madison Marco led the Mustangs with a 16
th place finish in the 64-athlete field with a time of 25:18.14, just ahead of teammate
Macie Langstraat, who placed 17
th at 25:25.22.
Kyra Kusnierek finished 27
th at 26:24.57,
Alicia Blesi earned a 38
th place time at 27:16.54, while
Natalie Jorschumb closed with a time of 27:25.61 to place 42
nd overall.
In the men's 8k race,
Carter Schwalbe was the Mustangs' highest finisher crossing the line at 28:19.14 to place 15
th, while
Seth Torgerson ran 28:31.67 to finish 17
th overall.
Logan Roelofs earned a 38
th place time of 30:26.02,
Roel Palomo ran 31:07.11 to finish 45
th,
Elliott Hoffman closed at 32:13.58 to finish 55
th, while
Daniel Olson finished 59
th at 34:06.33.
SMSU will next compete on Oct. 12 at the Dordt Classic in Sioux Center, Iowa.
