BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team opened its 2024-25 season on Tuesday finishing day one of the 17-team Central Region Fall Preview in 16
th place with a 42-over-par 330 at the Adams Pointe Golf Club.
SMSU had three players,
Berkley Steffen,
Isabella Jacobs and
Mallory Uselman, card scores of 10-over 82 and are tied for 62
nd. Steffen had nine pars and one birdie, while Jacobs recorded eight pars and one birdie. Uselman, in her first collegiate round, recorded nine pars and one birdie.
Danielle Podoll shot a 12-over 84 to sit in 80
th place recording 10 pars, while
Ellie Krueger, playing in her first collegiate tournament, is 86
th after a 15-over 87 with six pars and one birdie.
Augustana leads after day one, shooting an eight-over 296 to pace the field and holds a five-shot lead over Nebraska-Kearney and Henderson State. Shannon McCormick from Augustana is the individual leader in the 90-player field after shooting a 2-under 70.
The tournament concludes on Wednesday morning with tee times.
