MARSHALL, Minn.- The Southwest Minnesota State University women's swimming & diving defeated Northern State 185-83 but fell to Augustana 148-138 in a quadrangular on Friday night inside the Don Palm Natatorium.
The meet featured a total of 32 events including 15 in the women's and men's division which also featured 1-mtr and 3-mtr diving.
Carla Nevi earned three first place finishes for the Mustangs in the 50-yard backstroke (28.31), 200-yard backstroke (2:11.60), and in the 100-yard IM with a time of 1:02.02.
Maddy Storm secured a pair of first place finishes in the 50-yard breaststroke (30.43) and in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:27.40.
Maija Geier earned a first-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.16 and finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.89.
Lexi Weems swam a time of 25.02 in the 50-yard freestyle to earn first place and earned a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.60.
Maggie Johnson snatched a first-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly (27.00) and a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (25.44).
A team consisting of
Maija Geier,
Maddy Storm,
Maggie Johnson, and
Lexi Weems earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:38.82.
SMSU returns to action tomorrow hosting Dordt (Iowa) with a start time scheduled for 10 a.m.
