MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State women's swimming and diving team suffered a 203-91 loss to Minnesota State on Saturday afternoon in a dual held inside the Don Palm Natatorium.
Lexi Weems earned a pair of first place performances, while teammate
Carla Nevi also picked up a first-place finish to lead the Mustangs.
Weems captured first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.58 and won the 50-yard freestyle at 24.65.
Nevi reached the wall first in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:09.85. Nevi also placed third in the 100-yard IM with a time of 1:01.23.
Grace Aesoph earned second place in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:01 and picked up a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:01.44.
Maddy Strom placed third in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:08.95, while
Savannah Orzech was also third in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:32.82.
Sophie Bisek picked up second place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:33.86.
Emma Knoll recorded a score of 182.15 to finish second in 1-meter diving.
SMSU's 200-yard medley relay of Nevi,
Maddy Storm,
Maggie Johnson and Weems finished second at 1:49.69, while the 200-yard freestyle relay of Weems, Aesoph, Storm and Nevi placed second at 1:39.48.
SMSU will return to action on Dec. 4-6 at the Augustana Invitational in Sioux Falls, S.D.
