MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's swimming & diving team opens its 2025-26 season on Friday in Aberdeen, S.D., for the Northern State Relay Meet with Northern State, Concordia-St. Paul and UMary competing.
 
Competition is slated to begin at 6 p.m. and will be held inside the Aberdeen YMCA.
 
Friday's meet begins the seventh season for SMSU at the Division II level since starting the program in May of 2018. Seventh-year head coach Marty Wahle has 23 individuals on the roster with six juniors, seven sophomores and 10 freshmen.
 
SMSU returns 13 letter winners from last season's team that finished seventh at the NSIC Championships with 261 points.
