MARSHALL, Minn. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's and men's track and field teams will travel to Mankato, Minn., tomorrow and Saturday competing at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Championships at Myers Field House on the campus of Minnesota State University.
The heptathlon begins at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, followed by field and running events starting at 12 p.m. SMSU's first events will begin at 12 p.m.
Action continues Saturday with the pentathlon starting at 9 a.m., field events beginning at 1 p.m. and running events getting underway at 1:30 p.m. SMSU's first events on Saturday will start at 1 p.m.
The team awards presentation is expected to take place at 6:25 p.m.
All-NSIC performers consist of the top three place winners in each event and the members of the top two relay teams from the meet. A total of 15 schools will compete for the women's championship, while the men's championship field will include 12 teams.
At the 2025 NSIC Indoor Championship, SMSU finished eighth on the women's side—the program's highest since being reinstated in 2014, while the SMSU men's team finished 10
th overall. The SMSU men's team had one All-NSIC performer a season ago with
Tyler Smith placing second in the 600 meters, while
Nadia Sanford finished second in the shot put for the women's team.
