MARSHALL, MINN. - Southwest Minnesota State shot 57.1 percent from the field and held a 42-23 rebound advantage down cruise past St. Olaf 97-70 in exhibition action on Friday night in Marshall.
SMSU opened a tight 20-18 game with 8:54 left in the first half by going on 10-0 run in the next three minutes to open a 30-18 lead and the lead never dipped below double digits the remainder of the contest.
SMSU shot 59.4 percent from the field in the opening half in building a 45-30 halftime lead.
The Mustangs pushed the lead to 20-plus points in the first three and a half minutes of the second half and never looked back in earning the victory.

Taylor Huseby each scored 10 points to lead a balanced Mustang attack as all 13 SMSU players scored at least four points in the game. Senior
Ross DeMasi added eight points and a game-high nine rebounds. No Mustang player played more than 19 minutes in the game.
SMSU will continue exhibition action this Monday, Nov. 3 at Division I South Dakota State.
