ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State tennis team won all but one match to defeat Division III Bethel 8-1 and pick up its first win of the 2009 season Saturday afternoon in St. Paul, Minn..

SMSU improves to 1-2, while BU drops to 0-1.

The Mustangs swept the doubles portion of the match, with No. 1 partners Ananda Ferrari and Danielle Hildebrandt posting the most the most convincing win with an 8-2 victory.

The Mustangs did not drop a match until their No. 5 singles match when BU's Krista Nauman downed SMSU's Angie Wiegmann 6-0, 7-5.  Ferrari, Hildebrandt, Cailey Grupe, Amy Daniels and Toni Pribyl all won their singles matches for SMSU.
