ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Twelve different Southwest Minnesota State players posted hits as the Mustangs defeated Northern State 17-0 Saturday night in St. Cloud, Minn., at the Husky Dome Invite.
SMSU improves to 3-5, while NSU drops to 1-4.
Kiley Peterson headlined the Mustang offensive performance, going 3 for 4 with five RBI.
Jessica Paczosa also had multiple hits, going 2 for 3 with an RBI, while
Krista Steen was 2 for 2 with an RBI.
SMSU had an eight-run second inning to add onto the 3-0 lead the Mustangs had already built in the first inning. The Mustangs added another eight runs in the fourth to ensure a five-inning contest.
Sara Silke picked up the win for SMSU, allowing three hits.
SMSU play two more games tomorrow at the Husky Dome, meeting up with Valley City State (N.D.) at 2 p.m. and St. Cloud State at 6 p.m.
