ST. PETER, Minn. - The Southwest Minnesota State tennis team dropped a conference match to Minnesota State, Mankato 7-2 on Sunday morning in St. Peter, Minn.

MSU improves to 5-5 (4-1 NSIC), while SMSU drops to 1-7 (0-3 NSIC).

The Mustangs managed a win each in the singles and doubles competitions.

Cailey Grupe picked up the SMSU singles win in her No. 3 match, defeating Sara Madigan in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3.

Grupe and teammate Trisha Baldwin also picked up a win at No. 2 doubles as they defeated Ami Nishida and Cassandera Anderson 8-4.

The Mustangs return to action on March 28 when they play Minnesota State Moorhead and Upper Iowa in Minneapolis, Minn.
