KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Despite a seven strikeout performance from Sara Silke, the Southwest Minnesota State softball team fell to Adelphi (N.Y.) 2-1 at the Rebel Spring Games Tuesday morning in Kissimmee, Fla.
The loss drops SMSU to 8-10 overall.
Silke threw a complete game, giving up four hits.
AU put together a two-run second inning and held that lead until the sixth inning.
The Mustangs scored their lone run in the sixth inning after Jessica Paczosa reached base on a walk and was hit home courtesy a Kristen Braden double. The run, however, was the last SMSU would score in the contest.
Paczosa and Christine Borowiak also collected hits for the Mustangs.
SMSU will play Wisconsin-Parkside tomorrow at 12 p.m. CST and Nebraska-Omaha at 2 p.m. CST.
