Round 1 Results

BUCKEYE, Ariz. -  The Southwest Minnesota State women's golf team shot a round of 350 and is in sixth place at the 13-team Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championships at Sundance G.C. in Buckeye, Ariz. 

SMSU is not eligible for the RMAC title but is playing in the tournament to face regional competition.  Upper Iowa leads the tournament with a team score of 318.

SMSU was led by junior Melissa Lackas, who is tied for 14th with a 12-over-par 84. Freshman KC Kane is tied for 17th place with a round of 13-over-par 85.  Sophomore Sarah Baukol carded an 87 and is tied for 25th, sophomore Stephanie Bruns is tied for 41st with a 94, while senior Abby Oakland is tied for 52nd with a 98.  

The championship concludes tomorrow morning.
