BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. – The Southwest Minnesota State University women's golf team closed its 2025-26 season on Friday afternoon, placing eighth the 13-team Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship played at the par-72 Adams Point Golf Complex.
SMSU finished the 54-hole tournament with a score of 168-over-par 1,032.
SMSU, which shot scores of 53-over 341 in both the first and second rounds, carded a final round score of 62-over 350 on Friday.
Mustang senior
Isabella Jacobs closed her career finishing 27
th in the 70-player field with a 29-over 245. Jacobs, who shot rounds of 10-over 82 on Wednesday and Thursday, recorded 10 pars on Friday to finish with a 9-over 81.
Senior
Berkley Steffen tied for 43
rd at 46-over 262, following a round of 17-over 80 on Friday with six pars. Another senior,
Meghan Pundsack, closed her career shooting a 21-over 93 in the final round with five pars. Pundsack finished tied for 46
th at 50-over 266.
Sophomore
Allie Nedved and freshman
Carly Hamman both tied for 50
th with scores of 56-over 272. Nedved closed with seven pars in the final round while Hamman recorded one birdie and three pars.
Wayne State shot a tournament-best 303 on the final day to rally from a seven-shot deficit and top Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul to win its first-ever NSIC championship.
Sophomore Gaia Stancikova from WSC was also crowned NSIC individual champion after out-lasting Concordia-St. Paul's Addi Wood in a four-hole playoff.
